I'm a 2nd assistant manager at a Vitamin/Health store.

I open the store, close the store, put up displays, stock the shelves with vitamins, protein powders, pre-workout, protein bars, and protein drinks.

Most days I'm just babysitting the store. One of the pros about this job is tons of downtime. I will usually use the time to study for school, post at CE, and just browse the net. One of the cons would be that I'm forced to lie to customers about how great our brand of products are just to get more commission. When I first started this job and tried to maintain some honesty, my manager berated me and told me that selling our products took priority over everything else. So... yeah. Lots and lots of lying.

Pay is not bad. And commission helps. I'm working here until I finish school.

Im a contract mail carrier through USPS, serving a suburban/rural township adjacent to my city with around 1300 addresses. I get to wear whatever I want and listen to music all day, I get paid well and my boss is cool as hell and knows I do great work so hes never up my ass about anything.

Working at Whole Foods is trash. Insufferable company culture while basically being the exact same pile of garbage all the other grocery stores are(just moderately better starting pay).

I think my favorite is that supervisors basically run the Front End while the actual managers answer e-mails and/or goof off all day, and they only get $1/hr. more despite having an insane list of responsibilities.
I have plenty of cool coworkers though, so it's not a total loss, but my manager is the one everyone agrees is the worst.

Yes. I am a DBA for county. My salary is great for where I live, benefits are great, great work atmosphere and I don't have to work for a for profit entity.

No I work in a giant fridge with raw meat most of the day and have to bust my ass off because I have to carry the entire department

Can't wait to move out of there in a few years, hopefully before the arthritis really kicks in

Overall I really like it. Its a good mix of mindless busywork where I can listen to music or podcasts, or take some time to read articles, and more difficult work where I need to use some brain power. Plus the pay and benefits are good and theres room for career progression.

im a security guard. i like it because it's a low stress job. honestly its the best job ive ever had do to it being calm. thats not necessarily the best reason to like a job, but ive worked mostly call center jobs in the past so this is nice

I enjoy my actual job. My boss who is the owner seemingly makes it more difficult for no reason. In recent years, I've gotten away from the habit of saving him from himself. I voice my opinion and then laugh at him when his plans fail.

GNC, Vitamin World, Vitamin Shoppe constant lying. The products I have to push to customers have stuff like artificial colorings, cottonseed oil, and other low quality and questionable ingredients in them.

I dont push those products towards experienced lifters and/or educated customers. I tried a couple times when I was new and it got awkward when they knew I was bullshitting them.

I usually push those products on casuals. Meeting sales goals is everything. And casuals are the ones who dont really question anything.

I have two different jobs with the same company:

Amazon driver - Really dont like it. You carry heavy boxes all day and youre pressured to do it as fast as you can by Amazon themselves

Limo driver - Really love it. Good pay and light work.

Marketing officer for a college. Love what I do. The cyclical nature of education gets a little tiring at times but the job itself is great.

I dont hate my job but I'm sure bored of it. Pros I'd it pays decent with tons of over time and a flexible schedule and its stable.

Cons is I hate the industry and I've reached the end of advancement here so I wont be able to make more money here. If another opportunity comes I'm taking it.

This GNC protein powder is the best! Its clean protein that will help you recover from tough workouts and build muscle. You know what would be great too?! If you add GNCs multivitamins, GNCs pre-workout, and GNCs fish oil to your regimen!

Its so tacky and awkward to say, but its what were constantly pushed to say. Youd be surprised at the amount of people who agree to buying all of that. As long as you can convey confidence, people will buy whatever you recommend.

When my manager isnt working with me and Im all by myself in the store, I dont bombard customers like that. It makes customers feel uncomfortable. I let them do their own thing and only ask them if they need help looking for a product if they look lost.
