The fucker sold me inauthentic Airpods Pros, then lied about it and said he received them as a gift and that they could potentially be refurbished. The audacity of this guy to scam a customer, and then make threats toward me as if hes the one being inconvenienced. For the record, ebay notified me that the return item needs to be sent by May 19th so I still have another day, which makes this message even more aggravating.

I contacted ebay by phone and I was told that because I already received the refund and I was sold an inauthentic product, its under my discretion if I want to return it. So I guess the jokes on him lmao. The return shipping label is not even available to me anymore because this dumbass closed the dispute, so even if I wanted to send it back, the burden is on him to send me a new shipping label and have him pay for it out of his own pocket.

He's saying he's reporting you to the FBI because you won't return the counterfeit item he sold you

From my experience reporting to the IC3, the FBI will not respond over a single isolated incident like this and if dude's run this scam before, he's more likely to tell on himself if he reports it

This was my assumption lol.

Probably thinks the threat will work so he gets the item back and can use it to scam more people.

How do you prove to ebay that the item wasnt authentic? Couldnt someone receive a real item and then send an image of a different item and call it not authentic?

Anyway I was planning on mailing the item to the person by noon today, but when I opened his message it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I went lol nope. If an item is counterfeit, under ebays police you are not required to send the item back as ebay has a money back guarantee for those situations. So either way Im gucci. I get a nice pair of fake airpods that I can give away to a family member, and I get to piss off an ebay scammer. Its a win win :D

I took photos of the serial number while it was still wrapped. The fake Airpods are shrink wrapped, while the genuine ones are neatly wrapped in plastic and contain a pull tab on the right side of the box. The fakes ones lack a pull tab.

I called ebay and they said its under my discretion if I choose to return the item, especially now since the seller closed the return. I dont even have access to the shipping label now, so even if I wanted to return the Airpods I would have no way of doing so. And no way in hell am I paying for the shipping costs to send them back.

I asked if you're 100% or have confirmed it's fake through Apple, not suspect it.

I don't know what type of person this is, or what he's capable of, but if he has proof that it is real, eBay's policy doesn't really matter in terms of the law.

The best thing to do is not respond to him in anyway unless he starts with physical or personal threats.

You are in the right and are not obligated to return them. He is just blowing smoke and he knows it.

If he starts sending some threats, simply let him know that this entire conversation is logged and you are reporting him to ebay for harassment and (depending on the threat) to local and HIS local law enforcement.

Also if you can give him public feedback, leave links to pics of his threats if Ebay doesnt take him down
