it is , cant call them they can only call you at over a dollar a minute l, someone is getting rich

When I worked in addiction recovery, transferring clients from jail was the worst because if they don't have someone outside helping them we can only talk when they call during specific hours. It stopped multiple potential transfers.

"I don't see what the big deal is." - The well off.

Course if you're well off you just have someone pay your bail so you barely have to stay in jail.

Meanwhile if you're poor...

And it actually impacts people too. Say you got out of jail and are trying to apply to a job, most businesses you'll have to wait anything from 6 months to a year because there's no direct access allowed, they can only view purchased copies of the database that only get updated once or twice a year.

Pretty much like 80% of the way jails and prisons work in the USA is wrong

every time i've ever gotten a call from a prison it was a collect call. the prison system will happily pass the charge onto the person the prisoner is calling.
