Considering signing up since it's the only gym nearby with a good rating and it's cheap, with the other being 24 Hour Fitness with a bad rating.

If youre looking to be a gym rat, no. PF isnt for you.

if youre looking for a clean and casual experience. Just somewhere to get a workout in. Its completely fine for what it has and what youre probably looking for.

Last time I went in one it was literally just treadmills, dumbbells to 30lbs, and Smith machines

Nothing else

It is, but they rarely used it in the 6 months I had been going (I'm going to go back in June after my 2nd vaccine dose has fully kicked in). It's a great gym if you're just looking for a cheap place to get in shape. They have more cardio equipment than anything else, so guys that want to do heavy lifting always talk shit about it.

The main downside I would say is, because it's cheap, it tends to get crowded. Check it out at the time of day you plan on going and see if the crowd level is tolerable for you.

been there a couple times. i like it, no issues with it. i like that they advertise the "no judgement zone" thing. last thing i need is for body builders to make me feel like some twig.

one thing that's weird. they sell those weird high protein cookie snacks. seems innocent, but those things are like 400 calories per cookie. probably not the best food to sell in a gym lol.

It's functional for most peoples needs. The one I went to had dbells up to 80lbs. Light to mid sized weights were in high demand during peak hours. Tons of machines. Tanning beds if you're into that.

Nobody except a Karen or two touched the lunk alarm. The rest of the patrons looked at her as the problem instead of the dude doing some mild grunting. So they didn't make a habit of hitting it.

Overall, if youre not intending to lift heavy it's fine. If you need to graduate to a gym with more weights you'll know.

Not sure how that myth started but guys that work out a lot won't give you a second look no matter your body type as long as you're not an annoying gym-goer in the weights area that hogs a machine/bench while texting on the phone or talking to a friend.
