I will be playing through the whole series with the intention of getting the platinums for all 4 games which will be very arduous. I will require getting student rank A0 which requires a perfect playthrough of all events.

Since you're going for all the plats, I recommend just doing nightmare NG runs to save time, especially for CS3/4. CS1 is the only one that was a little difficult.

I got really burnt out playing 2-4 in rapid succession, good luck.

Fie is the best character, I love breaking her evasion rating to the point she cant be touched and just rips off constant critical counters.

Machias is actually pretty good with his utilities. The only characters I really find lacking are Emma, Laura, and Gaius.

I always play with the characters I like unless they are insanely bad. Some of the characters in Suikoden I liked were basically unusably bad.

Well, in the second game and after it, they force you to use everyone, so you sort of have to keep everyone up to par.

I rotate some characters out, but I really like the sections where you get an extra person to use. Last time, I used Elliot and Jusis, but this time I went with Emma and Alisa. Sometimes I swap out Fie for someone else, but not always.
