On one hand it can destroy them, but when you consider that so many more Republican voters are buying into QAnon, it migh help them.

No one does. He lost them a lot of power and he has no social media anymore. He only has as much power as they give him. Also he might not even be alive in 2024.

I mean, she's not. She's still a contemptible person, if not 100% as batshit as most modern Republicans.
She's very much like Romney in that neither of them actually disagrees with any of the policy, they just don't want the actual plan said out loud.

I never said she was a good person. Just that this whole debacle is an indication of where the GOP is heading.

Specially with all the voter suppression and gerrymandering they are doing, they may just win outright via cheating like crazy.

And Im saying shes not even honest or reasonable most of the time so youre giving her a lot of credit based on one political move that will likely be beneficial to her in 6 years.

Doesnt stop her for being the current voice of reason. I mean we literally have mccarthy saying no one is questioning the 2020 election, right after kicking out someone for saying Trump didnt win.

Yeah, I really don't understand why Republicans are developing such a cult following for Donald Trump of all people.

A lot of their followers that value the (formerly) core Republican values were suffering, just like the Democrat voters facing hard times. While waving the Republican flag, Trump told them that their problems were caused by various groups rather than tackle the underlying issues.

It is a lot easier to blame your problems on others rather than to tackle the issues with deep roots. A quick fix over a long term solution. He made the people buy into his snake oil claims, they now believe it to be true, and it has put the rest of the GOP in a situation where it is easier to fall back on the quick fix of Theyre the enemy, lets just do the opposite of them! that was promised rather than go about things the right way. Going about things the right way (not even necessarily the Democrat way) will lose the GOP votes at this point (or at least they believe that will be the case), so they have fallen in line with his bat shit stupid ways.

Thats my simplified take on it, at least.

It's concerning how easy it was to get Democrats that only recently got into politics to spend the bulk of their engagement idolizing the Bush wing of the GOP. They'll buy her books soon.

It's important to note that literally none of Trump's talking points were new, he just repeated all the lies Faux News had been screeching for 30 years.

They're not being destroyed. They're more than likely going to come back with a vengeance in 2022 and 2024 as this Trump-cult fascist party they are building up.

the neocons have caused far too much death and destruction for me to ever call them a "voice of reason" or "the lesser of two evils" like others itt

People that are always fawning over the Bush wing's call for decorum grift while that's as deep as their disagreements go. They laid the foundation, this is the world they wanted. Unlike Trump, they were successful in stealing an election. It's only lacking their aesthetic.

This is the politics of our era. It's not just a Bush love fest.

Biden based his campaign around the idea that the GOP is great and that we've always needed a strong Republican party.

That further herded liberals that started casually following politics a couple years ago into their nonstop drooling over Romney, McCain, and so on.
