It's actually quite interesting, as I am fully in control of the mental side of my anxiety now, thanks to my therapist who is outstanding (took me a few therapists to find one I click with). The mental side of anxiety doesn't affect me anymore, I know the thoughts are irrational and incorrect so I can easily ignore them. Unfortunately the physical symptoms still randomly appear and overwhelm me occasionally.

I have all the coping techniques, I know what I need to do. I actually don't have any thoughts or feelings that cause anxiety or cause me to not be able to function (anymore, anyway), but on the odd day maybe once or twice a month, I wake up and have overwhelming physical anxiety symptoms. Short breath, that gigantic knot in my stomach, feeling "heavy" (can't lift my arms), feeling fuzzy in my head, hands shaking like a crack addict.

It's really frustrating when it happens on a work day and I have to push through it. And I know that when I wake up tomorrow, all the symptoms will be gone and it will be back to normal.

Guess it's a valium day for me today.

You may have nutritional deficiencies. Are you exercising? Your body may just have a natural physical habit of an anxiety response out of habit.

I take supplements for nutritional deficiencies and yeah I exercise, could probably do it more though.

I'm not a professional by any means, but sometimes these types of chemical imbalances stem from the body's tendency to produce chemicals in a way they are used to. You may be in the position that your body is simply doing what it is used to.

one of the biggest things that they teach you in therapy is that each day is a new day.

I know one day at a time if very cliche but thats exactly what it is

Yeah, of course. It's completely true. Mentally, I know all these things. my anxiety doesn't affect me mentally these days, just physically.
