Depends on the "encouragement".

You can encourage people to be healthy and help them without bullying/fat shaming.

Depends on why you're giving said advice and what they ultimately want to do with their life.

If you're just clowning on them for being fat, then yeah that'd be body shaming

Honestly yes to a certain extent

If they are obese, then they need to be encouraged to lose weight. However people seem to fat shame people that are not even that fat in the first place which is disgusting

Also there's better way to encourage someone to lose weight aside from, "LOSE SOME WEIGHT YOU FATTY"

No. As long as you're not a complete dick about it. Telling someone that's morbidly obese with raging diabetes that they need to make lifestyle changes isn't fat shaming.

Telling someone their lifestyle is unhealthy and dangerous is absolutely body shaming. This is a topic in bad faith.

No, but you can be too aggressive about it. Overweight people need to want to change. If they don't, then nothing is going to change anything. The only time to be combative is when people assert the "healthy at any size" nonsense.

If it's unsolicited and you're not a doctor or other medical professional, guardian or close and trusted confidant, then yeah.

It's been unamimously proven that fat shaming leads them to... become even fatter. Like what do you think these people will do to get comfort over people making fun of them? Some of them will just do it just to spite you as well, I mean the its the same of behavior smokers would do in that same situation.

But this right here is the only thing I can't accept about the "body positivity" message. "Beauty at any Size" is an okay statement because beauty is subjective. The moment you state something factually incorrect like "Healthy at any size" is when I have to put my foot down.

You can get an idea though.

That said Phil Kessel is chonky as fuck and he's an elite pro athlete so its not as simple or black and white as some people wanna believe it is.

Look at Mark hunt or Roy Nelson for other examples of incredibly in shape people who are still fat.
