A concept taken from Science Fiction, "uplifting" is basically raising animals' intelligence to the level of sapience through artificial means (technology.)

I wouldn't be in favor of it for the animals' sake. Uplifted animals might feel discriminated by humans who may consider them "unnatural". I would try to treat them with respect and dignity, but I can't say the same for everyone else.

Not a fan. It's like how people "domesticated" some chimps, and they can't interact with other chimps anymore.

I wish animals were 10% smarter and easier to communicate with, so they understood things like "don't go in the road" or "don't eat that it'll kill you"

That would end horribly. We can barely even manage ourselves as a species.

Pretty weak reasoning here. The only reason those things are hostile is because of humans and their shenanigans

If we had the technology, wouldn't it be morally correct to uplift them? Don't we want the best for all living things? Although, I guess that would pose the question: which animals do we uplift? Should we uplift them all or a select few?

I think uplifting is a noble idea, but it has the problems you and I put regarding this (the question of which animals do we uplift and discrimination by other sapient beings such as humans).
