Out of about 32 that I gained from my pre-pregnancy weight. 35 lbs pre IVF hormones.

Im looking to lose 10 lbs more to get back to pre IVF weight. But I feel great to have dropped so much. I lost 20 lbs 1 week after giving birth just from baby, placenta and fluids.

C section recovery is still a bitch to get through and I cant exercise for another 4 weeks. The scar makes me very sad as well, especially the thought of wearing a bikini and the weather has been great.

But my baby came safe and healthy so thats all that matters. Its crazy to think that without modern medicine, we both would have likely not made it.

congrats. Not sure how you are losing weight so fast in a short amount of time, but be careful. Losing too much weight too fast also comes with significant muscle loss.

but I'm guessing you had a good amount of the weight from the actual baby and water weight loss from the pregnancy too. Just be careful. Sorry if I come off giving unsolicited advice.

Yeah Ive been looking up laser scar removal. I could always go to Newport Beach or LA. My stitches havent come out yet so just waiting for that to clear and then Ill get a consultation. Already discussed it with my husband and hes fine with potential costs if it will make me feel better.

Love the self confidence. I need to work on that. I look at my incision and cry most days. I know its vain and potentially just me feeling blue post hormonal crash. But Id absolutely do it again for her.

She is doing awesome! We formula feed (I dont produce enough to breastfeed) and she loves to eat. Its tough during the day because shes constantly screaming for more food but if she eats too much she pukes it. So were trying to find a balance. Its hard because she wont stop screaming until she eats more so we just try to feed very slowly. But at night she sleeps in 3-4 hour blocks so were very grateful for that. Hope it stays that way.

I didnt really gain much besides pregnancy weight. The rest of my body never changed, it was all belly. Which made for a very rough pregnancy as Im petite and had all this weight in my abdomen. Messed up my hips and lower back a lot. Its so nice to turn in bed without all the pain and feeling like I was carrying a giant bowling ball in my belly. Baby girl was a massive 9 lbs 2 oz LOL

Tbf, it's fresh for you. For me I had time to come to terms with my deformity. And I been skinny my whole life, so that's nothing to me anymore either. You just gotta ask yourself, am I really gonna let something like this take me down when I have so much else to offer? And people here don't really hold their tongue with letting you know you're a catch lol. You got so much, it's silly to let a lil scar override all that. But again, it's a fresh insecurity. So it also feels reasonable to feel insecure for the moment. I don't think you're someone who is gonna let it control you for the long run.

Thanks ladies! Recovery is hard because I really hate not being able to do much with my baby and generally hate sitting around. But I overdid it yesterday and paying the price today. Luckily my husband has been so good and told me to take it easy. He went back to work on Thursday but seeing how difficult it is for me, hes looking at taking a few sick days next week. I think baby girl is just too heavy for me LOL. Changing her, carrying her, etc puts so much pressure on my abdomen.

I honestly dont feel like I did anything noteworthy. I just didnt gain much during pregnancy. I can see how hard it can be for women to lose weight after pregnancy though. Baby takes so much time and attention, and not everyone has a husband like mine who steps up and does their share. I cant imagine how women do it with husbands who arent involved with anything.

Thats very true. Thanks for that perspective. It was definitely a shock when I first saw it, which took a few days since I still looked heavily pregnant with all the fluid retention. When I finally saw it in the mirror it was just hard to take in. Ive never had major surgery before and I still have stitches and glue so it looks even stranger. Im starting to accept it more. It helps that my husband is on board with me getting laser to reduce the appearance. Hes normally stingy about finances lol

The hospital itself was amazing. We had this brand new, huge birthing suite that looked like a hotel. Even the food was really good for hospital food. The nurses and doctors were wonderful. Im very fortunate that my company provides great health insurance, they will cover 90% of all the expenses.

The birth experience itself was traumatic. I was 11 days passed due and cervix would not dilate. I had to be induced and I was in labor about 26 hours and suffered several painful interventions. Eventually, my daughters heart rate was in distress and I had a fever so thats when my OB called for the emergency C section. It felt like I went through so much pain and suffering for nothing, I wish we would have just gone with the surgery and skip everything but oh well.

I did have the option to stay a fourth night at the hospital but I just wanted my own space and bed.

Id say all the hunger cues lol. Sticking her tongue out or making circles with her mouth. Shes always hungry! She also likes to poop when you hold her. Its hilarious. She will make a very serious, concentrated face before she lets it rip. It takes a few minutes to let it all out. When shes done, she starts wailing until her diaper is changed. If you try changing her before she cries, youre at risk of being pooped on as my husband learned one day.

My muscles do feel different but that is the C section. I feel somewhat numb is some places and just slowly regaining feeling and function. But I feel so much lighter. Even though my mobility is still limited due to stress on the incision, I feel so much better. And no more 24/7 heartburn and acid reflux is amazing!

Haha that's awesomely cute! A lot of newborns get very serious looks when pooping - I think around 5/6 months they pick a favored expression. My nephew looked concerned for a long time while my neice was always surprised.

Ugh. She had a baby. First of you lose the person thats inside you- thats 7 lbs usually. Stuff in the uterus, placenta and amniotic fluid is another 6 pounds. Increased blood in pregnancy is 4 pounds. Other fluid another 4 pounds. Fat and protein for the baby another 7 pounds. It is easy to lose 25 pounds after a baby. I lost it within a week.

I dont know if its maybe harder after a c section? Both of mine were born vaginally and I breastfed so things went back to normal quickly.

Yeah after the c section I had a massive build up of fluids from the pitocin and IV, and gas from being exposed to the air. My legs became tree trunks and my feet tripled in size, I had no ankles whatsoever lol. The swelling has gone down considerably though. My uterus is still contracting as well. Every day my belly looks a tad smaller. I suspect by my six week check in, Ill look pretty close to what I used to.
