Event was essentially an announcement of the game and a few questions from world media members during a pre-taped conference.

Facts we know so far:

• Game will be released on XB1, PS4, XB Series, and PS5.
• Game will have an English and Japanese dub.
• Game is an action RPG game just like Judgment, action combat with enemies.
• Detective stuff seems to be a lot of the same stuff but they appear to be looking to refine it.
• Seems just about all characters from the first game will be returning. Only one I noticed as absent is Mafuyu.
• The impetus for the story is a client of Genda Law Offices being found guilty of harassment, but in the process of his verdict, reveals in the courtroom that he had committed a revenge killing in Yokohama.
• As such, game takes place in both Kamurocho and Ijincho as explorable areas.
• Story has a lot of stuff taking place at a local high school, which includes story, exploration, and additional minigames which seem to include boxing, "battle bots" of some sort, and a dance club rhythm game.
• Yagami now has a new third fighting style in "Snake" that focuses on counters and being reactive. Apparently this was implemented due to the fact that Yagami sometimes fights against high schoolers and the devs weren't comfortable with him performing brutal EX Actions on kids, so you'll be using Snake's less brutal takedowns.
• Yagami can now apparently skateboard.... ANYWHERE.

This is sorta unclear; the website lists PS4 but not Xbox One, which would match Judgment

That's odd. Both this morning's presentation and the announcement trailer say XB1.

Last year, I played EVERY Yakuza game in order

Then finished off the journey with this game

wow what a big surprised

game was very Dramatic

Also worth noting is that it was stated that the mainline Yakuza games are going to continue to be turn based RPGs going forward.

Judgment had no direct ties to major Yakuza characters and this game looks to follow that same track.

So I'm going to say that there's a 0.5% chance of Kiryu appearing in the game.

If it's anything like the first one there will be a subtle nod in the description of certain skills and maybe a substory referencing something he did in a previous game. ONO! Though it'll be more likely to reference Ichiban than Kiryu.

I just started playing Yakuza Kiwami as my first Yakuza game ever and the combat is borderline unplayable, I can't believe it launched a big franchise.

You shouldve started with Yakuza 0 because thats the game that really made the series popular and its also the best one
