You only notice this on late stages where they want you to tackle tons of bosses. And they usually give you a ton of lives yet very limited methods to getting your energy back.

They added the shop in recent installments and you can buy 9 weapon tank refills in MM11 for very very cheap.

I prefer MMX making life capsules store into the tanks.

Ok lets say mega man 2 wily stage 4. If you dont know to be careful with crash bombs and waste em youll have to grind that energy back or die a lot. Its just a waste of time. Its fine if you already know so its just pissing new players off.

And youre about to face all the robots again, which is fine if your good or ready but you may have used a decent bit in wily 4.

Its only hurting the newer players and it wouldnt affect more skilled players. Its false difficulty imo.

If you're going to tear off Mega Man's penis like that then I don't understand the point of having a Mega Man in the first place.

The attrition aspect is part of the game.

Yeah, that's the worst aspect of Mega Man 2: there's no way to know you're specifically going to need Crash Bombs and Bubble Lead to kill those respective bosses(and also the resource requirements there are needlessly tight).
Like, Crash Bombs are even used to blow up those destructable walls, and I'm pretty sure those things appear in Boobeam's level!
Though you have to cut NES games some slack for being primitive as hell.

In my last run i knew ahead of time and saved energy tanks just to tank that boss. In the boss rush i was a little low on some weapons so had to tank more than id like. Aside from that the run was much easier than i remember. First time running through Rockman 2 instead of mega man 2.

Well you regain it on a game over. Doing it after every death would decrease the challenge. Unfortunately this is a thing in some of the later X titles.

The challenge of refilling them? Or dying enough to restart?

Depends on the boss in question. Sure there are a few that require a certain weapon. Boo Beam, the Alien, Gamma, Final Wily in 4, but for the others if you run out then either find the secondary weakness (assuming it has one), or use your trusty buster.

But if you wernt good enough to defeat them with their weakness youll fair better with the buster?

If youre using the weakness are you looking for a challenge?
