On ep3 and it feels kinda...slow? Bad guy is just some basic chick with a normal name? New Cap doesn't even have powers? Like is he even a valuable asset lol.

Over all, yes, i enjoyed it.

I think this series would have benefited from releasing all at once, instead of the once a week model. Like, Wandavision benefited from the once a week, with all the mysteries and speculation and OH WOW IS THAT BUNNY MEPHISTO???

but this was just a long captain america movie so it didn't really need it.

I liked WandaVision more since this was basically just a standard MCU action movie, but longer, but it wasn't bad. Sam and Bucky are engaging enough characters, and the fights now and again weren't bad.

It is good, but I enjoyed Wandavision more.

Falcon and Winter Soldier is basically what you expect from a standard MCU production.

Wandavision was a bit more of a surprise, I didn't expect to like it as much as I did.

The Flagsmashers are a little uneven due to an entire plotline with a global pandemic and them stealing vaccines for it to help poor people getting cut due to real world events, but Sam, Bucky, and John Walker are fantastic.

Sam in particular gets a lot of great "show, don't tell" moments that really sell why Steve picked him.

I liked it. But Anthony Mackie / Falcon has always been one of my favorite actors / characters in the MCU, so it wasn't a tough sell. And it was nice to finally see Bucky treated like a real person who's acclimatized to his new life in the modern era. John Walker was of course the breakout character of the show; I don't know nor particularly care about the comics (thus didn't have any prior knowledge of the character) and assumed from the trailers that he'd just be a one-dimensional political stooge, so I was pleasantly surprised with the character depth he ended up having.

It was ok. It set up Falcon very well, but Marvel is now back to having complete shit, totally forgettable villains.

Also I hate how they trivialized the Super Soldier serum so much, now everyone can be cap

They literally showed why just anyone CANNOT be Cap. The SSS isn't what makes one Captain America. Not sure how you missed that?

Well they solved that by destroying the SSS and killing the scientist that could create more.

I mean Steve (and Isaiah) were the only true successes of the SSS. Walker and the Flagsmashers got the super strength but there were obvious extreme mental side effects. No one in universe has ever replicated Erskine's work. Even the stuff they gave to Isaiah killed everyone they gave it to but him.

So not only do they show why not just anyone can be Cap, they show that there's a ton of problems with trying to replicate the SSS. So yeah you can get some of his powers but it's a mixed bag and I'm pretty sure they're all weaker and slower than Steve anyway. Like his version was perfect and every version since has been worse with massive side effects.

Quality of action and quality of production wise it's good. Storywise it's mediocre and suffers pretty heavily from being a six episode run instead of 9 or 10 and developing multiple arcs more.

Ok, it was pretty good. But 2 things...

Am I really supposed to believe the US government would care that Captain America killed a terrorist responsible for tons of death, and who only moments before had a hand in the death of a decorated soldier? . I feel like that'd get spun immeadiately as a major win.

And how is Sam's family broke? Are superheroes not handsomely compensated? Or at least surely Stark put some money in a trust to make sure Avengers didn't need a day jobs so they could focus on saving the world.

I think the issue was that Captain America was seen and filmed brutally murdering a defenseless person begging for mercy - thats not a good look for the mascot of the US. They probably dont give a damn about the guy being killed, its how he was killed and the resulting damage to the image of the US.

Did you not notice how he did it in broad daylight and was filmed? Regardless of whether they care that's a PR nightmare and he'd immediately get dropped.

And Sam was gone for five years, along with half the planet. His sister wasn't getting superhero pay in that time, and they don't get paid in general. Sam even said they essentially rely on the good graces of the public.

tbf, they should've def been able to go to Pepper for some money, even if Tony hadn't been super cool with Sam personally.

All the Avengers should have deep pockets at this point.

Yeah. They don't all need to be fabulously wealthy, but they shouldn't be scrounging to pay bills. They've got enough on their plate saving the planet to be working a 9 to 5 on the side lol.

It was ok. Production quality was basically a full fledged movie, but the show itself was not really captivating and it just kinda ended. Wandavision set the bar too high with actually giving me a reason to watch next week; with Wandavision, I found myself watching for the actual show. With F&WS, I found myself watching just for MCU purposes from an obligation standpoint.

The flagsmashers/Carli fucking sucked

True, but even then, as an Avenger he shouldn't have to be in need of money in the first place.

Granted, Steve made a quip back in Winter Soldier about not being able to afford a place in Brooklyn. I thought it was a joke, but maybe they really have just always paid the Avengers a shit amount of money.

Who the heck is this senator lol. He's on the superhero committee. He's in the field doing bs. He issues pardons. Does marvel know what a senator does or do they just need a generic US government guy.
