The people that the UK opened up special rights to were literally born in a territory that was ruled by the British and when the territory was handed over the China it was done with an agreement, that the Chinese have violated, that was intended to give them certain human rights. From a quick google search London's residential real estate is worth about 1.5 trillion pounds which is more than 1,500 times the amount that Hong Kongers have bought up.
