I had a best friend all through elementary school, middle school he starts hanging out with the cool kids. I struggled to keep the friendship going, because I didn't have many friends. But I realized in my early 20's that the only time he EVER called me was when he needed something a ride to hang out with his friends (the only times I was ever invited) someone to help him move, ect.
It was awful but I realized that I had been taken advantage of for 10 years when he asked me to move after having not talked to me in almost a year and pretty much gave up my only "close" friend who really hadn't been my friend for a long time. I helped him move and he has never tried to talk to me again after that so it's not like it took any work on my part to end it though. Sometimes I do wonder though if having no friends is better than bad friends. ... Copied to Clipboard!
