Whats better for a relaxing resort hotel? Beach front or like those rainforest ones nestled in the trees?

I haven't been to Indonesia but when I went to Costa Rica I stayed in a rainforest/volcano resort and a beach resort on the same trip. I'd say they were both relaxing but the rainforest one was definitely quieter and more chill. Probably only because it wasn't as crowded, but it was nice being surrounded by greenery and hearing and seeing a variety of wildlife.

yeah I did think this, but Im so so used to relaxing on a beach and doing nothing, occasionally taking a dip in the ocean then back to the lounge chair. I guess at the rainforest ones you can just do that by the pool?

whats the ones you stayed at in Costa Rica?

Yeah I love relaxing on the beach and just looking at the ocean. Can't really do that in the rainforest but just walking around and being around so many trees and flowers is very relaxing. Kayaking on the rainforest rivers is also really nice.

Stayed at Tamarindo Diria (beach) and Mountain Paradise Hotel (rainforest). Both were great and the breakfast buffets are so good.

Yeah that looks sick bro, especially the one in the mountains. I've done dozens of beach holidays, never a jungle one so might actually be a good experience. I'd love it just for being quieter than a beach destination.

Is Costa Rica safe for tourists? Didn't realise this was the country near mexico, for some reason I was confusing it with the one owned by the USA (puerto rico?)

Yeah it's really safe. I lived there for almost a full year. My only recommendation is to take a lot of bug spray if you go to the beaches. I got very sick from what I'm assuming was mosquito bites. Had to get lymph nodes removed.

Well that was about 11 years ago so I don't know if the safety changed or not.

I never felt unsafe there. We did a package through a costa rican vacation company and they recommended different excursions based on our interests. I did get sick the first night I was there but I think I just have a weak stomach. I inevitably get sick whenever I go to tropical areas.

I also stayed in Costa Rica in a forest hotel with a view of the ocean, large lizards would walk right up to the pool area and hang around just chilling, monkeys would also come right up the pool as it was hanging off the side with the ocean view, lots of other smaller wildlife to be seen all the time too. it was my favorite part of the trip seeing the animals.

It was this hotel, looks like they redid the aesthetics in the 12+ years since I've been, when I went it didn't look nearly this nice, nor did the Air Conditioning work which was hell in the summer. Definitly alotta mosquitos for sure, and they always found a way into the room too.

I think I stayed there. Maybe it was another hotel in the same town. Been so long. I remember once the monkeys were right outside the room. I managed to finally see a wild toucan like a week before I left the country for good.

Went with family when I was super young. Probably didn't like it and would've preferred to stay home and play video games with friends for the holiday.
