The program:

It's proprietary, from what I can tell. Runs in compatibility mode (Vista SP2 or 3). Originates from 2010, and has little in the way of documentation. To clarify, I can start it, but there's a certain function that when I try to do, I get the error "an unsupported operation was attempted". I get the dialogue box for the operation, but I can't change any of the values or click OK because the same error shows up when I try to do so.

My laptop:

Windows 10 education, version 20H2. 8 GB RAM, i5 of the 8th generation

My PC:

Windows 10 enterprise, version 1909. 16 GB RAM, Ryzen 5 2600

I'm currently upgrading my PC to 20H2 in the hopes it may help. But somehow, I doubt it

The major difference seems to be the processor. Have you checked to see if anyone else has a similar issue with the app when using a Ryzen?

I'll do that. Iirc most people use the PCs at work, which have Intel CPUs
