You could get rotten items, opened items, and missing items. Idk maybe my state (Texas) is too trashy for a delicate job like this one.

through out this pandemic, we've been regularly ordering grocery delivery

i think in the many, many times we've done it, we've had 1 missing item (quicky refunded) and like 1 broken egg.

no rotting stuff. what stores do you shop at where they have rotting food out to grab?

I live in Detroit and have gotten good delivery of groceries. Where in Texas are you? Or are you simply making assumptions and have never ordered groceries?

Knocking on a cantaloupe is pointless. Color and smell. Watermelon it matters, as does the stem.

I could see the person grabbing the first item they see which could result in bad veggies/fruit, but you should he grabbing those yourself anyways. Use them for Graham crackers and ramen, not fresh foods.

I live in Dallas. I've used Instacart (for Kroger, Sprouts, and H Mart orders) about ten times, in the pandemic and the only real problem I had was with some confusion with produce amount. One time, I ordered 1lb of jalapenos and got one loose jalapeno. Another time, I ordered 4 large bananas and got 4 bunches of large bananas. I didn't get a text or call asking for clarification, either. Wasn't a big deal but was annoying. The produce has always been about as fresh as I could ever find for myself.

Substitutions are also very iffy, at least from what I've seen with other people. I have strict preferences on some items that I'm not going to deviate from, so I just go with no substitutions and only two or three times did I get nothing due to the item being sold out.

Ordering from walmart has been a mostly good experience...except for a few times when a few items were missing (they refunded me) and the guy that bodyslammed my case of water was a butthole but besides that...not bad
