The "X character is ugly" thing is incredibly stupid. However I do believe the $70 is a big factor as to why this game may not sell well. Sony really needs something like Game Pass or mandatory 1 hour demos if they want that $70 price to work.

Increasing the price "just because" does not all sudden give a game more value. If they want to charge more for the product, they need to qualify that. It being a new console generation doesn't give them that right.

If a games on sale then the review becomes more favorable. You justify the flaws through paying less to experience the goods.

The only way it would become a negative is if the cost became more 3 years down the line, as is with retro games.

I remember when Red Steel was eviscerated for inaccurate motion controls at the Wii launch. Yet, in retrospect, it was actually one of the best control schemes for an FPS on the Wii.

Funny how that panned out.

I think people had these preconceptions of motion controls being on VR levels of interactivity, and were disappointed when they didn't become more immersive than Red Steel and Wii Sports...when that's pretty much the best it could be.

Um...what? Every roguelike I've ever played at least lets you save your game in the middle of a run. The game looks awesome and I will get it sometime, but that is still a problem.

Been seeing that a lot everywhere like the biggest roguelikes/lites around don't have some sort of save system lol gamers have short term memory, one of the biggest games last year was a roguelike that let you save mid run.

This is an actual issue with the game that needs to be addressed and they should have put in safe rooms or something.

Games ARE worth more nowadays than they were when the $60 price tag became standard, given the increase in studio investment and employee numbers. Not to mention inflation.

The market is also much, much larger which means those studio investments are being met with larger returns. When games are making hundreds of millions of dollars in their opening weekend at $60 you can't say it needs to be $70 because of inflation without also comparing the number of copies being sold. Product tie-ins, in-game advertising, and DLC are all entirely new revenue streams that bring in tons of money that older games didn't have access to.

Skip around. There's barely any combat, but maybe Max is just playing it wrong.

Its because Max cleared the biome and spent a lot of time exploring. Enemies dont respawn after you kill them.

There are 6 biomes in the game and each one has plenty of enemies. Typically, theres going to be a lot of action on the first run through a biome until you reach the boss. After you beat the boss, you can explore before moving on. If you get to say the third biome and die, then you have to restart from the first biome unless you have an item that revives you. This doesnt mean you have to refight every enemy until you reach the third biome again but you can if you want to.

Theres plenty of action. I have the game myself. From the looks of it, Max seems to be taking it really slow when its supposed to be a fast paced game which is fine. People can play however they want.
