While awaiting a helicopter to bring you out of the danger zone your best friend* gets bitten on their left foot. We wait it out. If they show signs, or if they turn...answer is obvious. Once they turn do my best to off them without getting infected myself and try again to reach out for help. Id probably explain the plan to the rescue team if I had time. It would be betrayal to my best friend all the same but maybe theyd atleast die not knowing of the betrayal. If I die too so be it. My best friend though would likely kill themself or beg me to do it.
