Picked it up earlier in the week, 13 escape attempts and about 15 hours of playtime so far. Just getting to the point where I've unlocked weapon aspects

I'm pretty much a complete newcomer to the roguelike genre, so it's been a bit of an adjustment so far. The lack of healing was off-putting at first, but I guess I'm slowly getting used to it.

The overall takeaway is that I probably just need to be more careful about taking damage in the first place.

What's everyone's preferred weapon? So far I've mostly been using the bow. That Chiron aspect is pretty nifty.

Such a great game. I ended up falling off of it after 90 hours or so.

Love all the weapons, they all have at least one fun aspect to play with

The only run I've cleared so far, I did with a spear special build of all things. I had always thought the spear's special was trash, so I was amused by that

My favourite weapon for most of the game was the spear. Get a chain throw Daedalus upgrade on it along with Zeus or Ares on special, and it kills rooms without me even needing to move.

But after unlocking the hidden Aspects, the rail is my favourite, by far. Getting Athena on its attack with the Eternal Chamber upgrade makes you basically invincible while you just melt the room.

My impression of the rail so far is that it just takes so damn long to kill anything. I even had Zeus on the attack, which doubled its damage, and it still felt like I was chipping away at blocks of marble with a rubber mallet

have you been getting Keepsakes from NPCs? there's one that allows you to randomly get small heals from urns/pots. pretty helpful if you're needing heals.

The rail is all about using both attack and special together. The special has a couple of stupidly strong hammer upgrades.

Oh yeah and as mentioned below the zag aspect sucks so rail seems really weak at first

Zag rail is pretty trash.

Eris and Hestia? OP as fuck. Hidden aspect can melt too with the right boons.

I usually start with the coin purse and switch to the lucky tooth afterward. I used the feather duster for a while, but it seemed kinda weak because of the low % chance.

I really do detest the fight with Theseus and Asterius. Theseus is in the running for the single most annoying video game character I've ever come across, he calls Demeter half the time, which is just bullshit, and I swear his spear curves around the pillars. Asterius seems like he has weird hitboxes on his swing, his charge turns on a dime, and he can come flying completely from offscreen to hit you without any warning at all.

Got my second clear. Chiron bow with some boons to the special just tore through everything. Got all the way to Styx without taking much more than about 60 damage total, then burned all three of my death defiances on Hades but still got him in the end.

I've also come to the conclusion that the acorn is pretty damn good. I might start using that instead of the tooth.

that fight threw me for a loop for a looong time. always go for the bull first and use the pillars defensively.

I put like 110 hours into this game in the first 2 weeks it was out. I still have 3 achievements left but every time I try to play it I'm terrible now >_>

I'm amazed by just how responsive the dialogue is in this game. Zagreus guessed he'd be fighting Alecto at the end of Tartarus, but it was actually Meg, and he commented on that.

Yeah the game is packed with dialogue, I'm pretty sure I didn't hear all of it even after getting all achievements

Speaking of that, Alecto is by far the hardest of the Furies to fight. There's just so much going on after a while that it gets hard to track all of it.
