I think people don't realize how much of police work is just dealing with obnoxious drunks, yob kids and idiotic family squables all day every day until your brain melts

They don't show that in the Hollywood films

I think the main one should be a sense of community service. not that I didn't have that, its the enforcement part id have issues with. my skills I thought would have been a better fit in like conservation.

They are insecure, power tripping losers who go out of their way to fuck over the public before going home to lash out on their significant other. Their behavior is then glorified as heroic by people who refuse to call them out on their bullshit so they continue to believe it is acceptable to behave in such a way, paying no heed to the needs of the public as they selfishly make up laws and excuses to arrest, kill, or ticket people.

They plant evidence. They lie in court. They murder people. They get into their feelings and allow their sensitivity to dictate how they decide to approach a situation, even when it is unlawful.

It's the kind of joke that's only funny if you agree with it. Otherwise, it comes across as juvenile. Given that you agree with its subject matter, you're not in a position to argue otherwise. You have personal bias.

Lol everyone has personal bias in one way or the other when it comes to police. Anti-Police brutality has been the number one social movement in America for like 6 years now. That still doesnt dictate what is funny and what isnt.

Yes, that's actually my current goal, although I usually don't talk about it much, given the strong anti police sentiment here.

I worked as a non-uniformed employee at the California Highway Patrol for a few years and it changed my view on police. The officer's there were all just regular people. They joked around, played pranks on each other (one officer had his car completely wrapped in caution tape), gawked at the women and super cars that came in and otherwise just gave off the "guys being guys" vibe. Before working there, I was always nervous around police (black guy in LA), now it's like "hey officer, how's it going?"

Being a cop is the ultimate customer service. Your called to come out and survey the area. It doesnt matter if you did your job, theres people who arent qualified that will tell you how to do your job.
