It's more "the majority of visible, powerful people are men". Feminists (not "women") don't generally stop to think "oh wait, 99.999% of men aren't powerful either"; and they assume that somehow replacing 50% (or more) of powerful corrupt men, with powerful corrupt women, is going to solve the fact that a small number of powerful corrupt people actively fuck over everyone else.

To be fair the fact that low status men are treated worse than low status women doesn't change the fact that women are oppressed relative to men at the higher levels.
