I'll have a charcoal flavored suit with a vest, probably a green tie. Brown shoes.

The shoes I think are what I need help with the most

I have a pair of brown dress shoes I've only worn once or twice, but they are so uncomfortable. What's the secret here? Is it just because I haven't broken them in, or do I need a special type of dress shoe that will look nice but also be comfortable?

I always find dress shoes so stiff and painful on the heel

...that's not really something easily done online, you haven't even told us what color you need. Every type of occasion and suit can require a different shoe.

I did, brown shoes with a gray suit

I'm assuming you meant shoes here.

And yeah, same- I've owned several pairs of dress shoes over the years and they are always super uncomfortable

I don't go to a lot of events during a normal year though so I'm not sure if I just haven't broken them in or what

I'm actually agreeing with No_U_L7 here. Buy better shoes. I always had that problem with comfort when I bought cheap $20-$30 dress shoes from Target or similar stores. You don't have to go high end. Even just going up to $100 shoes makes a difference in comfort.

That said though, if you're literally only going to wear them for the wedding, it might be better to just deal with the discomfort than to spend $100 on something you're going to wear once.

I feel like shoes I've spend in the $80 range don't feel too comfortable either.

The link he posted is promising for that sale price though. I'd wear them for the wedding def, but would keep them on deck for any future events. Even if I get once a year use of out of them it would probably be worth it. I'm planning on doing some dancing at the wedding so want to make sure I'm feeling comfortable

ya, meant shoes my bad.

ya they get better with cost, but i wore them daily for work... I'd wear them out too fast for the money tho. I could resole them, but that's a pain in the ass. went to a boot and been real happy with those and I can wear them casually just fine too.

Yeah, WolfandShepard are good shoes for sure. I was hesitant to recommend shoes without knowing your price range lol. Congrats on the wedding though.

How charcoal (and how brown for that matter) are you talking? If its closer to black I'd consider a darker shoe, a burgundy, grey or even black. Closer to grey and I'd stick with browntones
