I recently bought a new computer. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-TC-895-UA92-i5-10400-Processor-802-11ax/dp/B088X2YR3X
I found out that this computer has a proprietary PSU, which can't be replaced easily.
Should I be worried about the power supply?

It'll probably last until your warranty runs out.

IMO the PSU and Mobo are the most important components in a PC, but people often cheap out on them.

I wouldn't worry about it, assuming you don't plan to game on this pc or upgrade it at all

Is that the case with most prebuilts?

Is it one of those short towers? Why cant it be replaced easily?

The problem with that kind of thing is upgrading your rig. I tried to upgrade the work computer and its one of those short towers and the psu wouldnt support a gpu and we were stuck with integrated graphics.

I dont think its a problem, but it will be a few years down the line when you want to change out your gpu.

Why can't you replace the PSU? If you look at the pictures in your link, you can see the screws that hold it in place. And it looks like a normal sized one but idk

Yes, most prebuilts will use their own cheapo mobo and psu. The sites that let you pick your mobo and psu in the build are okay, but even then the ones they use tend to be on the lower end compared to what you can buy yourself.

The funny thing is I had a pre-built last 10 years. I haven't had a DIY with good parts last more than 6 years.

Just scanning the title real fast, that computer doesn't even have a video card. Any power supply should be fine.

Yeah I can't imagine a single reason why the PSU shouldn't be replaceable
It's not impossible that the people who built the PC might tamper with it so that you can't replace it e.g. hotgluing something in place so you can't remove it without possibly damaging the parts, so that you're forced to return to them for support? But I wouldn't count on it

I heard that if I'm just using my computer to browse the web and watch streams, I won't be straining my PSU.

You heard correctly, the psu will be fine for those purposes
