Was Myria justified?

Seriously, spoilers.

Was Myria justified in what she did? She saw her people destroy each other and use technology to destroy each other. Arguably that technology seemingly caused the Desert of Death to threaten the rest of the world. So, she cuts the world in half and uses a giant ocean to halt the spread of the Desert of Death. She also halts the spread of technology and provides the world with Chrysm power, something that she controlled and gave the world some semblance of power to have an easier life.

She also chooses to imprison or outright destroy The Brood. She sees their power as another potential cataclysmic issue that she needed to control. She did not control technology before and it threatened to ruin the world... so she would not allow that kind of mistake again.

Yggdrasil said that what she was doing was guaranteeing the peoples end though, correct? By controlling the access and flow of Chrysm and technology, the people had no feasible way to stop the decay that the Desert of Death was slowly causing? It was a safe, yet slow death.

I think Yggdrasil believed that technology and power should be unrestricted in such a way. Let the world make their own decisions, carve out their own path. Sure, it would make things significantly more difficult and the chance of failure high, but it would also give the world a chance to discover or create the tools they need to save the world.

Or am I mistaken on that? Im going off of memory and its been a long while since I played.

Also, the genocide of the Brood was wrong no matter how you slice it. The Brood meant no harm and had no interest in destroying the world. Hence why they didnt fight back. They paid the ultimate price in order to keep the world safe. I think thats one of the many reasons Garr questioned the Goddess. And it also makes one of his last lines all the more powerful. At the end Garr put his full trust into Ryu over the Goddess that gave him the power and life he had.

Also I think Myria just had it out for the Brood since the mural that is shown in the opening and is found in Dragnier pretty clearly depicts the events of I believe the first Breath of Fire. Myria is simply evil no matter how she dresses it up.

sorry this post is a mess. Im on my phone and seconds away from falling asleep lol.

Nah because of her I had to fight Teepo, which killed him and with his dying words said all he wanted was to be with Ryu and Rei.

Dai Grepher: I was wrong. My entire theory is incorrect. Zero Mission IS a remake of Metroid.
