Mine's not bad at all. When I was like 7 I caught a cast fishing hook with my face, right in the center of my right cheek. Still have a lump on the inside where the "impromptu piercing" healed up.

Crushed disc and herniated disc in my back.

Tore my mcl in 2 places in a motorcycle accident. Had a scooter try to u-turn across 3 lanes in front of me. Ended up clipping the front of him (if I t-boned him, we'd all be dead). Kept my bike standing by jamming my leg into the ground which in turn destroyed my mcl.

Broken arm from being the goalkeeper in a high school gym class soccer game.

The other team had a kid that played soccer his whole life, and he launched a veritable cannonball at me. I managed to block it, but at the cost of my right arm.

Broke a finger in elementary school, but it wasn't that bad. Don't know if kids still do this, but seemingly everyone in school wanted to sign the cast.

Not sure if this counts as an "injury" but a bout of the stomach flu was the worst I've ever felt. Aches. Nausea. Everything I ate or drank came out of one end or the other within 30-45 minutes. Lost 12 lbs. in a week.

Hallucinated too.

I have heard that tearing an Achilles tendon is excruciating. The story I hear is that it's like barbed wire being slowly pulled against your flesh from your ankle to your calf (or the other direction) beneath the skin.

Hopefully never happens to me or anyone I like.

Slipped on black ice, and shoulder full dislocated. The ball joint was somewhere on my back. When I pulled it back in I felt the bumps of my ribcage and it reminded me of a xylophone.

Also, an ex stabbed me in the rib. Caught in the bone, so it didn't do much damage, but it hurt a lot for a long time.

i can think of a couple though i'm not sure which counts as the worst. i'll list from as i'd judge least to most bad.

  • went to a water park as a kid and didn't bring enough sun screen. wound up with blisters all over my back/arms/neck/face/head. worst sunburn i've ever had, and probably the most painful thing i can remember though i suppose that could be because i was a kid at the time.
  • had eye surgery in middle school. wasn't injured, it was to help correct what turned out to be a cosmetic issue even though the jackass ophthalmologist made it sound like it would fix my eyesight. involved cutting and repositioning the muscles that shift the eyes back and forth, post op left me blind and in pain for good couple days. also looked like a demon, both sclera were blood red from the bruising.
  • broke my ankle twice playing soccer. didn't actually realize i had broken it the first time, thought it was just a bad sprain. didn't find out how much damage i'd done to it until i rebroke it a year or so after the first time, thought it was another sprain but the swelling wasn't going down after a few days so i got it x-ray'd. was told that the first break likely had required surgery and that it had weakened the joint, left me with arthritis in the ankle that really only flares up if i run for long periods of time.

I did crack my breastplate once in HS football. Or rather, someone cracked it for me. Forgot about that. Not the worst thing, but a cough, sneeze or laughter really hurt.

- Car wreck when I was 9. I was in the back middle seat, with the belt that just goes over the lap. We got into a bad head on collision and I was flung forward, the belt caught me across the belly, and severed some muscles, intestines, and damaged my spine. Though, the alternative was going through the dash board... So yeah. Doctors bungled things after that I ended up with gangrene in my intestines that needed emergency surgery to remove. It was agony for a week.

- My brother almost killed me once. There was an old dog house near the woods. My brother saw there was a huge nest of hornets in there. He called me over(I was 6-7 iirc) and put a ball inside and told me to get it. Once I was inside I saw the bees, and started crying for help. Instead, he kicked the whole thing over, which knocked the nest onto me. Was hospitalized with several hundred stings. Luckily I don't remember anything after he kicked it. I do have a small divot on the side of my nose where one particular sting destroyed the flesh.

I got knocked cold in HS football. Mild concussion. Slight headache for a week and no memory of the game, but no major pain. Happened in the 2nd quarter (I'm told) benched, and at halftime sent to the hospital. Had to miss the next game.

My kids are not fucking playing football.

Ive broken my foot when I was a little kid. I fell out of the attic and my foot caught the henge. It was a good thing because I fell headfirst.

I broke my collarbone playing football in the neighborhood a year or so after the first incident. I also fell off of something and busted head. Didnt break the skull, but I had to get stitches.

When I was in later elementary school, I broke my finger when I threw a stick. Part of the wood splintered and caught my finger hard enough for it to break. What I didnt realize was that a giant chunk of wood was actually inside my finger (I thought it was just a slash). It got swollen and I had to go to the doctor. They cut into it with a scalpel and this massive inch-long splinter fired out like a missile. That was serious because I almost lost my ring finger because of infection.

When I got older, I broke my back when I got attacked by a group of drunk people. That took about a month to get back on my feet and I also broke my big toe when I was recovering. The toe was honestly the most painful thing I can remember.

Torn achilles playing soccer. Just kind of sucked and the surgery took forever to come back from. Lost my first step completely.

Real bad concussion from a motorcycle accident. The crash itself was pretty fine for bike crashes. I was able to walk away with minor road rash but had really bad post concussion symptoms. Passed out an hour or so later and was going in and out all night, throwing up, headache for a while and I think its changed me for life. Never had depression before that and have a worse memory now with lots of things I no longer remember in the past. Never went to a doctor because I didnt have insurance at the time and regret that.

Shattered my fibula, broke my tibia, and completely dislocated my foot on my right leg going into the boards in hockey. My fibula and some of my ankle is made of titanium. I also broke my skull at some point and it started to collapse years later and mess with my teeth, so I have a titanium plate keeping it together under my nose and a zirconium implant instead of my upper teeth. Looks the shit.

Driving as a teenager, after a winter storm and on a road so windy and dangerous that years later it was completely removed from existence and redone. Hit black ice (which I really did, cop verified and reported it) going around the first turn of an S curve and skidded into the left lane with an SUV coming around the turn right in front of me, got back in the right lane, couldn't make the turn, went over a ditch and through a driveway and hit a tree in the middle of a yard dead on the driver's side. Steering column pinned my legs and it took the jaws of life to get my door open and then again to pull the front of the car off my legs. Then the cop hopped in the back of the ambulance and wrote me a ticket for failure to maintain control of my vehicle before they took me to the hospital.

Left femur and three bones in the left ankle broken. I've got a titanium rod in the femur. Few weeks in the hospital, few months sleeping downstairs in a hospital bed with a big leg cast. Had to use a walker for a while, physical therapy, all that fun stuff. Missed more than a quarter of 11th grade.
