I'm happy as long as people are making good decisions and if they aren't, I hope they learn from them.

I have strong opinions on tattoos and tattooing (I'm for them, btw) but they aren't popular on this board so I'll keep them to myself.

By "trends," you mean things like the 5000 year history of tattooing?

We're going into the cultural and historical roots of it but tattooing purely in today's context is definitely 'trendy'. Not many people besides alt/goth/punk subcultures did it 10-15 years ago and their whole shtick was going against the mainstream. Now tattooing itself is mainstream and it's gonna be back in the dark corner, just give it a few years

I dont like it, myself.

I've never seen a tattoo that I thought improved someone's appearance. At best, it is a lateral move. At worst, it looks trashy because it is poorly done or in bad taste. Explicitely criminal tattoos aside.

I dont care for the technicolor danger hair either.

I suppose I have developed more conservative tastes as I've gotten older.

That said, it isn't really any concern of mine what someone I don't even know does with their hair, etc.

Yeah it sucks.
People who had silly hairstyles in the 80s can look back and laugh. People who got shitty tattoos in the 2010s are going to have to live with that.

Shitty tattoos have always existed. You get what you pay for. And its none of your fucking business if someone regrets a tattoo or not (and regret is much less common than people seem to believe)

Tattoos are a fad now. Of course people will regret them. Just like how everyone who has ever partaken in a fashion fad looks back at old pictures and cringes.

For the most part tattoos and piercings besides earrings make people uglier in my eyes. Colored hair can work on occasion.

That being said, it's their body so the choice is theirs to make, so I'm not gonna speak out against it.

I like alternative hair colors. Tattoos are okay if used sparingly and obviously depending on the individual designs. I wouldn't ever personally want one, though. I am not a fan of piercings at all.

I'm confused by this question, because tattoos and piercings have been going on for centuries. And hair dying goes back decades. And they've all been more or less normal for at least 40 years give or take.

I've had my ears and tongue pierced.

I've done black cherry, peacock green, blonde stripes, blonde and pink. I do not look good as a blonde or with pink hair.

I don't mind, unless they're excessive about it... like having piercings/tattoos all over the body or something. Then again being excessive towards anything is pretty yikes, so that's not really something against piercings/tattoos. Like the people on the opening post are fine.

Colored hair is cool, but I wouldn't be able to pull it off and I'd be too lazy to keep doing it. I don't like how some piercings look and some people get terrible tattoos, but I can't imagine actually having a problem with people choosing to do these things.

Tattoos are okay, but some people go overboard with it, to the point where they look disgusting. Same thing with piercing. I get it why people color their hair, they want look edgy and different, doesn't mean it looks cool. If you want to color your hair you better look cool.

I think self expression is great! Treating your body like a canvas is a really dedicated form of art. That being said, I do tend to be a bit judgy when I see someone with crazy gauges or an inconsistent look. Like, my boss at work has a lot of ink, but it all looks pretty, well maintained, and doesn't distract from her overall look. She wears nice clothes, has nice hair, a pretty face, and a sweet personality so it just complements her whole image. I also try not to judge too harshly since I have (technically) five piercings on my body so I'm into body modification myself.
