The episode where George gets fired because he had sex with the cleaning woman.

Apparently George is allowed to pack up his stuff and leave by the end of the day.

That company should consider escorting people out as soon as they get fired. Seems kind of stupid the fire him but let him stay until the day is out.

I thought the real oddity was how George, a self professed loser, seems to have a new girlfriend every week, and has had sex with at least 100 different girls by fans estimate during the shows run. Not even a good looking dude pulls those numbers

[Kramer's] whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down two-thousand dollars to live like him for a week. Do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors, and have sex without dating. That's a fantasy camp!

There were extenuating circumstances in that situation though.

"I'm sorry, I'm going to have to let you go." was the sentence used at first. Then an explanation of understanding my problems and best of wishes on my next steps.

When I worked for the feds, and someone got fired, two armed agents showed up to escort the person out. I saw a person have the phone taken from their hand mid conversation and hung up. The agents extended their hands and said "follow us". Story was someone from HR was at the person's car waiting to explain the termination (the guys with guns hang around for this). After hours, or on the weekend, the terminated person could make arrangements to clean out their cubicle/office. Again with two armed agents present.

Kramer doesnt have to pay for food at all so that significantly lowers his expenses.

its was the early 90s. They let people finish out the last day. It was the easiest way to keep them from coming back and sparking the place up.

These days they wait until the end of the day or week to can people so they are drained and exhausted. Sometimes it doesnt work out though.

TV sets have been bothering me for awhile. The Facts of Life house seems to bend space-time. It's like one of those impossible images that can't exist in real life. Honestly, Jerry's apartment is the least offender. Any TV set with a second floor pretty much warps our understanding of geometry.

What exactly is "the feds"? Is there some government job or something? Anyway, I have a similar story to me when I got fired, I was having a phone conversation because I worked in a call center. But they didn't yank the phone out of my hand, they just demanded me to hang up.

One of my old jobs (back when the first recession hit) tools me i was laid off first thing in the morning and expected me to finish out the day. I got paid for the day but i didn't do a goddam thing all day.

I was fired once, and it was literally at the beginning of the day and they sent me home paying me for the day. I don't think any business would want someone they fired hanging around afterwards.

There actually was a kind of interesting Cracked article about the theory that Seinfeld is an alternate universe in which Jerry Seinfeld never got to make Seinfeld. So it's essentially what his career and life would have been if he never made the jump to superstardom

I worked as a lot attendant for a local car dealership. Think we had 6 stores at the time and a fleet division that sold to rental companies. I worked at the fleet yard, organizing, prepping vehicles for delivery and documenting vehicles coming in.

Was struggling pretty heavily with depression back then, so I ghosted work several times when I couldn't manage.

Manager pulled me in one day about 3 hours in after one of those bouts and let me go. Said he knew I was struggling and needed to take time to figure out my problems. Let me work out the day, and gave me a weeks severance.

I think they were good to me like that because when I was at work I was really good at it. To the point where I get phone calls sometimes from the other stores in the autogroup asking if I can come back.

Unfortunately I moved across the country and have to decline every time.

If you're in the US that's really stupid of the business. They have to pay you reporting pay if you don't get to work at least half your shift.

I generally always waited until right before they went to lunch. If I have to pay someone for half a day they're going to work that half day.
