I found the world building and arc to arc consistency really wonky. But the characters are fun and the action is good. I enjoyed it.

I would also say the action feels more visual than mechanical, if that makes any sense. The characters are like "oh he's gonna use such and such attack so I need to dodge it with such and such technique" but the audience doesn't really have context for what they're talking about, you just kind of go with the flow and soak it in.

Pretty solid for a first season. Story-wise interesting, but not a ton to get into yet.

The art is gorgeous though and the soundtrack is quite good too.

The art and animation is fantastic imo. The story is subpar, and while the characters aren't well written, they are endearing.

It's like a really hot tinder slut, but she's kinda boring, unless you're into some really niche stuff.

Depends how young he is. It's mediocre imo but the action scenes are definitely the strong suit of the series and there's a lot of it.

If he likes interesting characters and story then he won't like it.

The animation, especially in combat, is brilliant, like putting vibrant water colors over a bland surface. In Shonen fashion, there is over-explaining of how things work WHILE they are happening, and things happening repeatedly a handful of times until a conflict resolves. The characters are mostly one-sided with a single trait that identifies them utterly, with some of those things/characters (including a major support character) being so fucking obnoxious. We are supposed to believe this feudal era with demons and sword-fighting is also happening alongside modern day with cities having modern appliances or transportation, though I'm unsure if this is a thing in the manga as well. There's a society of Hunters that looks and acts like a blatant rip-off of Soul Society in Bleach, or possible of the Espada Society in the same manga/anime who basically copied Soul Society. But hey, there's a cute anime demon girl who is gagged through most of the series, so yay for the fanboys who are into that sort of thing?
