Honestly I can definitely see it making sense with games to go digital, since every game gets patches and updates these days.

But for me, I like the possibility of reselling if I decide Im not going to play again. Plus smaller file sizes. Plus I still have the game even if I need to get a new system / lose access to digital games (even if it is unpatched or not updated).

Its just way easier to DL a game than to have to go to a store, buy it, then essentially download it anyway.

^That's a good point. I was actually going half in half with the physical/digital copies of games but once they required an install there was no point in me buying discs anymore.

And I like to switch games pretty rapidly so the opening and closing of cases compared to opening your dashboard saves so much time.

Try buying a Wii digital game and see how easy it is. Try buying delisted games and see how easy it is. The answer to both is they are impossible.
However people can buy any physical game easily for the Wii without problems. Any discontinued game is easy to buy.

A game having updates, patches or DLC doesn't prevent those games from working. Look at the NES and Sega Mega Drive game they didn't have DLC so if they had game breaking glitches they couldn't get fixed, yet people could finish those games without problem.

People sells console, that is the advantage with physical they can sell their games. Digital however nothing can be done.

I buy digital if it's discounted under 20. My backlog is insane as is with ps plus content and such, I don't need more unless it's cheap. Don't buy physical full price often at all these days. Next one I'm getting definitely is horizon Forbidden West.

Yeah there is, with digital you don't actually own the game just the license to play the game. For any reason a company can revoke the license and you can no longer play the game. Let's look at the Games with Gold, don't have gold? Oops you can't play the games you "own".

Maybe they are talking about portable systems like the Switch? Actually, I think the Switch doesn't need to be connected online after you download the game anyways though...

I only buy physical if I intend to sell them later on.

Switch needs to connect to the internet once a week to verify your licenses. If you don't, you'll be locked out of your games. Most people never really run into this issue though.
