"Collect the Caps" is a cute idea, but you don't need the Metal Cap at all, just grab the Vanish Cap and swim over to the cage where the Star is. Done.

I think a better reward for getting all 120 Stars rather than the lame sparkly triple jump (which does nothing) would be the ability to have all 3 cap powers at once.

You talk to Yoshi, he gives you 100 lives and the 3 caps, and you stay that way until you either run out of lives or quit the game (or maybe have the ability to toggle them on-off). Now that would have been kickass.

There is a metal wing texture, but at no point in the game can you get both of these caps at one time.
