She said she was gonna buy one every check she got...but she doesn't have a PC and doesn't use Steam(she called it stem). She also has been talking to someone on WhatsApp a ton, and when I mentioned it she said 'I didn't know what it was I was gonna delete it'...she's had it for a few months. I mentioned she was getting scammed, she put the card away and refused to check out with me next to her. Idk what I can really do? Basically they message on Facebook with a bunch of attractive pictures as their profile(stolen, usually), then they get them to message them on whatsapp or another chat service. They talk for awhile, then they make up some shit about needing money. When they don't give it, they say 'oh, you don't love me anymore we have to stop talking.' Basically, prey on an old woman's love. Then they ask for gift card codes so they can sell them to third parties(iirc, anyway). Some asked for her to be their sugar mama...she's almost 70 and on SS. She laughed it off, I didn't think much of it. The rest is just connecting the dots to scams I've seen.
