the latter is actually so much more frustrating, but also more convenient of a time-sink (which is not what i need right now with the responsibilities i have)

if i queue up for LoL i know i'm there probably half an hour per match and can't leave, it leads to healthier time management compared to being able to requeue over and over for OW

I gave up league when I realized that like 90% of solo queue is trying to manage the emotions of the other ppl on the team. Like when two people get into a fight during fucking champ select and then you have to slog through a 40min match you know youll never have a chance with. At least every match in overwatch is like 15 min tops

just be better at your role than the opponent and you climb hella fast

LoL's solo carry potential is vastly underrated especially compared to fucking OW bleh

League is only fun to me when I'm playing an alternate game mode, like ARAM, URF, or something to that effect (RIP Dominion).

The actual core gameplay of LoL is frustrating beyond belief. Even playing with a group of 5 real life friends, it just makes everybody mad.

Overwatch is similar, but it's not as much of a frustration snowball. Once a game of LoL gets people angry, they stay angry until it's over. That's why so many matches end with both teams posting in the post-game chat about "report X for toxic behavior" "Report Y for inting" etc. It's a petri dish of anger-building mechanics.

Overwatch is frustrating as fuck, too, don't get me wrong. But it feels less like an anger trap than LoL does.
