i'm ok with this one. i don't know how many posts i've lost over the years because i try to edit them, but the text box lost focus somehow, and i back out of the page instead of deleting characters. and, of course, the box cleared when i go forward again and i have to start all over again. it's never quite the same the second time.

A power-user who "needs" that functionality for some reason, already knows how to set browser.backspace_action = 0

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox.
  2. Type about:config in the address bar and press the Enter key.
  3. Click on Accept the Risk and Continue on the Proceed with Caution page.
  4. Type browser.backspace_action in the search box.
  5. Double-click on the browser.backspace_action parameter to set its value to 0.
