i usually pay around $100 for a 28g (1 ounce) bag, which lasts me a month or so of daily use. that's in ontario, canada

i'm curious if prices vary depending on location

Weed has been legal here for like 7 years and I still haven't bought any lol, I have no idea. I guess I was more into smoking it in college before it was legal, and the few times I've done it since then I just smoked someone else's that they shared

I usually only get edibles but somewhere around $15-$20 per 100mg

In California I usually opted to buy my weed oldschool style from an actual drug dealer based in Oakland. It was $100 an ounce, but I live about an hour away and he always delivered, so it was $120. Not top shelf, but definitely good quality. Had I opted to go to a dispensary the cheapest ounce I could get was maybe $200 before tax, and closer to $250-300 after tax.

Here in Las Vegas I still need to find a real drug dealer. Which in Vegas isn't actually hard if you don't mind sketched out cokeheads, but I like to find dealers I feel like I can trust. But anyway, I'm currently paying way to much at my local dispensary. Cheapest ounce I can find is $220 before tax when there's no deals going on.

I can't imagine ever paying much for ganja if I smoked. Maybe it's a culture thing. Since it's nearly ubiquitous here people don't care about lending out that stuff for cheap or even nothing depending on your relationship. Not for personal use amounts, anything more its a money thing.

In Massachusetts its 105$+ for a 1/4 ounce of flower. Then they add 10$ or 11$ tax so its usually 115-120$. That usually lasts me about a week and a half or 2 weeks

if you have a medical card, the tax goes away though

When I lived in Sierra Leone, precise measurements weren't a thing. You could buy weed in two ways: by the tie, which was about a gram or so of weed and two rolling papers tied up in a bundle, sold for 500 block which is a coin and the lowest current denomination (equivalent to about 6 - 7 cents when I lived there); or you could by it by the "bush" which is about a pound of weed that comes in one of two ways: processed (just a big bag of flower) or unprocessed (a bunch of dry weed still on giant stalks), for about the equivalent of $20. It is the shittiest weed I've ever smoked, but because of the pure volume I was able to acquire it really didn't matter.

Edit: also, probably worth mentioning, weed is not legal there, but it's not something they tend to care about much. Unless you're a white person on the beach in Freetown and the cop knows he can extort you. In which case, it's a small fee.

i buy bougie edibles because i don't use marijuana that often, so its like 20-30$ for 100mg of thc

and yeah, here in BC you can get decent ounces for $109.99 from government stores. that wasn't a thing at first. I was used to paying $180 for a good ounce on the 'black market' previously.

Most of the time if I bought $100 ounces black market, it was garbage backyard dad shit.

Also, there was ONE time I smoked really good weed in Sierra Leone. A big group of us were at a popular tourist beach, sleeping in hammocks and eating fresh caught lobster every day. And on our second night there this group of rappers from Freetown showed up and they had things you didn't typically see most Salonians owning: designer clothes, a MacBook that they made beats, even their own YouTube channel where they showed us one of their music videos. But the thing I was most stoked about was when they brought out RAW papers (not a brand I had ever seen in Sierra Leone) and green, crystally weed. They said it had come from some country in South America and then smuggled to Sierra Leone through some south African countries, but I don't know how accurate any of it is. When I asked how much it was to get some of my own, the prices came out to be close to dispensary prices back home. I was making the equivalent of $200 a month, which is enough to live like a king in any town or village in Sierra Leone, but wasn't enough to splurge on expensive weed.

That night I got the most stoned I had ever been in Sierra Leone. There was a party for a local wedding happening that I stumbled up to (Salonians are super welcoming) and just hung out and danced and then a vendor came by selling meat sticks (they always claimed it was cow beef, but cows aren't common in Sierra Leone, it was almost certainly a bush rodent of some sort) and over the course of an hour I bought and ate like twenty of them.

I pay far too much. Like $100 every 7 days.

I bought some good weed from Russians on Koh Rong Samloem in Cambodia. They were running the nicest lounge/food spot on the island.

Haha, that weed milkshake in Laos sounds fun. I had a friend that stayed at a hostel in India that just had a jar of weed ghee at that front that was free for people to just grab any amount they wanted. It's cool learning about different weed practices and products in other countries.

Yep! Fun fact: the word "pikin" (which means child in Krio for those unfamiliar) originates from the slave trade, when there'd be a group of children and a slaver could "pick one".

Edit: the Internet is telling me the etymology of "pikin" actually derives from a Portuguese word that means little one, apparently. Which makes a bit more sense because the Portuguese were the first colonizers to invade the country. The term for white person in Krio is "apoto" which I believe originates from the original foreigners being Portuguese and then pidgining it.

I grow my own. I got the original seeds from my late uncle. Havent smoked any yet, have just been growing them to get more seeds so far.
