Hear me out, with nightmares at least you wake up knowing it was all just a dream and not real

but with feel good love ones...you could dream about having a whole second life where you grow up, find your soul mate, have kids, love your dream family and enjoying life only for you to wake up and realizing it was all just a dream and you'll probably never dream about dem again

I used to have dreams about my ex I was with for ten years, you have that warm feeling way down inside where you know someone loves you and always has your back no matter what.

Then you wake up.

At least that was years ago and Ive since moved on, but that was a bit brutal for awhile.

I voted nightmare, but yes, this. Exact same boat.

I have that comfort again with a newer girl, but man, that shit has you questioning what the point of getting up from the floor is.

A nightmare is getting punched in the face.
A feel good love dream is getting punched in the face and wondering what it's like to not get punched in the face only to be punched again.

Nightmares are worse because they don't provide me something positive I'll never otherwise experience.

At least I have a brief period of sleep where I'm not miserable.

I don't have feel good love dreams very often. It always seems to be relationships from long ago though and it's weird. I wouldn't call them unpleasant per se.

Nightmares are definitely worse. I hate waking up in the middle of the night having my hair stand on end and trying to get back to sleep.

Worst dream is when you are in danger and your legs turn into rubber in quicksand and you can't do a thing except stand there and hope to wake up before whatever it is reaches you.

Nightmares. I don't know about y'all, but usually when I spend most of my dreams running/struggling, I wake up physically tired as if I were doing all that for real. That defeats the purpose of resting to begin with.

The good ones are worse. I've had vivid nightmares most of my life. Wake up, realize it was a dream, feel relief and go back to sleep.

With the good ones, you wake up knowing you'll never be as happy as you were in the dream. That the life you want and happiness you felt were fake and you'll never have the real version. It's awful.

The nightmares suck as they're happening, but the good ones mess me up for a long time after.

Yeah but this feeling never goes away anyway, so at least with those dreams I get some pretend happiness.
