What did people recommend it to you as?

It's a visual novel. If you don't like them, you won't like 13 Sentinels.

It never clicked for me. Maybe it's it the nonlinear narrative, but none of the scenes really had any weight or tension to me because you're always lacking context. Probably also the fact that the entire narration is done through voiced dialog. With visual novels you get all of that extra novely narration, but this is just like watching anime without the animation...the art looks really nice and the voice acting is also pretty great but it still ends up feeling kind of stilted.
I really wanted to like it but honestly I just don't understand the praise. I went in expecting to enjoy the story and suffer through the strategy sections but ended up experiencing the opposite lol. ... Copied to Clipboard!
