I feel like Im not competent, but there are some people who purely have no idea what theyre doing, but are still in the final class of the major. This has happened in two different majors.

I work with people in group assignments, in the capstone courses, and they have no idea whats happening.

Which 2 majors are you talking about? I'm in Engineering in Information Tech and i'd say good luck if you're in my 400 level classes and expect to pass without knowing what you're doing. You could probably weasel through some of the quizes but they're intentionally not worth shit because the labs are where they really put you to the test.

Accounting and Finance. Theyre technically plug and chug for a lot of it, but I dont feel like its super easy to just memorize without getting the concepts at all.

Ohhh yeah I could see that with Finance. For some reason I took a finance class as an elective (Thought it would be good to learn some good finance skills). All I did was look up finance calculators online that did everything for me. I did get the concepts of what they were driving at but i'm not a math person so I just used a calculator. I'd do the same thing in the real world too.

I was a superstar in high school and also shined pretty bright in my freshman year of college. This year has been a disaster. I guess because of covid and isolation from classrooms. makes classes so immaterial and meaningless. Feels like I can see my future alienation from my labor.

tfw one person like didnt even try to do their part of the group assignment so now on the last day we have to figure out wtf its all about. Like, we were all confused, but we still at least tried to figure things out, and then discussed it with others. They just did nothing and barely participated, needing their hand held when they did do something.

Im lucky that I dont feel that much different than I had been, but I know a lot of people are taking it hard. I can believe youll pick things back up.
