Current Events > Is it difficult to schedule an Uber/Lyft ride in your city?

I dont use either service because I have a car, dont drink, and cant think of any other reason why I would need one. Still, Im reading that my town has a serious shortage of drivers. Apparently people are waiting 45-60 minutes to get a ride.

Is this the norm or is my city apparently short on drivers? Ive heard the wages dont justify the wear and tear on your car, so maybe people just dont want to work for a meager wage?

I figured there would be more people who used the service. I guess its not as popular as the media wants us to think. Either that or everyone is quitting because of the wage.

I have never used Uber/Lyft because I am a grown up and can drive myself.

I have not gotten an Uber or Lyft since the pandemic started. Before then there was absolutely no problem finding a ride.

I have used a taxi once when I was 13. J have never rode a public bus. I rode the school bus before I got my license. I have only ever flown twice. The last time I rode a train was when I was 13 as well.

You've never traveled and used uber to get around the city? Go out bars or clubs hopping and don't wanna drive drunk? Go to concerts and shows and don't want to deal with parking? Been to any random place or event you didn't drive to and needed to find your way home?

I don't drink. I have always said if someone has to alter their mental state to have fun or feel good, they need help.

I don't like being driven by other people. I trust my own skills and abilities over someone else I don't know.

Yes. Lyft drivers are basically non-existent. Uber is constantly on surge price mode . Drivers call you and ask you to cancel the ride or they cancel the ride because your destination is too far.
