Luffy just learning CoC in a mere instant upon getting hit and Kaido mentioning about it. Like wtf.

I know this is a stupid shounen with stupid asspulls, but I think Oda is going too far here with the astronomically rushed powerups he keeps giving Luffy. And now we're gonna see Luffy solo beat Kaido for the rest of the chapters.

There goes your world's strongest man. A Yonko.

No, it makes sense. We finally have a significant used for conquerors haki

Also, i like to think dat kaido being da strongest is a farce...i mean shanks literally went up to him and den showed up unharmed at marineford lol. Not to mention he's been captured a bunch of times, has been getting damaged while big mom is unscathed so far, plus oden was about to rekt him one on one

Trust in ODA, also its not a power up. Luffy literally already had dis power, he's just now finally using it. Don't tell me you'll act like dis too when he finally awakens his devil fruits power >_>

Whitebeard was the strongest man and got hurt by bullets and swords.
Luffy knew about CoC but not using it offensively like Whitebeard and Roger used to.
Now through Zoro's Ashura, he does.
I'm just wondering if Kaido has CoC, I guess not every big name does, and they just manage, like Big Mom.

One piece writing is a mess tbh so no surprising there. Like introducing don flamingo introducing devil fruit awakening. Then luffy goes to the next boss and the guys like oh look I can do it too. -___- or zoro fight showing out Ashura in cp9 arc because it was never explained (idk if its been resolved since I left one piece on hiatus)

Kaido's also pretty old now. If he and Big Mom were in their prime, the Strawhats would be dead by now.

Dey are both definitely in deir prime right now imo, I don't think dey start growing weak until reaching 70 or dey get sick like whitebeard

Luffy has already showed mastery of just dumping CoC to knock out underlings. His training with Hyogoro helped him control his Haki in a very precise manner, and that precision training probably helped his Haki control in more ways than just punching. It's the kind of anime trope short hand you often see in similar animes like Naurot and DBZ. Luffy has never seen someone use CoC in such a way and thus didn't even know you could do that, so with the inspiration and his already developed Haki control it will come naturally too him.

Luffy's almost certainly not going to solo beat Kaido either. This will help him pull even but he'll probably still need help to finish of Kaido when Kaido tries to unless his "ultimate attack" or something--Specifically, the Samurai will return while the Worst Generation hold off Big Mama most likely.

Luffy had all the ground work and training done but literally got a grasp on it with it hitting him in the face, I didn't quite see this as an asspull. Its usually "im almost dead so here goes nothing!" And they just do something totally new

Shonen jump and bullshit powerups go hand in hand. It preaches the concepts of hard work, training, and all that rubbish like a religion but completely ignores the time aspect.

No, I'm not convinced a character worked hard and earned strength enough to defeat a opponant who was otherwise strong enough to one shot them only a few weeks prior.

I give a pass to that stuff as you get the feeling that many DF users gain additional proprioception based on the fact that they can transmute parts of their bodies into various, seemingly prehensile organs without issue.

Luffy didn't just learn it in an instant. He first saw it when he trained with Raleigh during the time skip. He has been trying to figure out how to do what Raleigh did at least since he was imprisoned at Udon. Then Hyogoro helped train him.

He still didn't have it mastered after that training and kept trying. They've been giving obvious clues that Luffy would get the hang of it for a while now.

Ashura was used for the first time in exactly 500 chapters in the latest chapter. Kaido said something about Zoro having Conqueror's Haki, but it's unclear what that meant. Were the extra weapons created from CoC haki coating? Or did he just use CoC on one of his swords, and thus was able to inflict a wound on Kaido?

Perhaps it's as.Oden said about WBvRoger.
"They're not even touching each other!"
The extra swords aren't real, but for dome reason, unlike the waves of WB or Roger energy, it's visible for Zoro. Or maybe he just manifests it different. *shrug*

Yeah I can see that for understanding how your power works...not for pertinent medical knowledge. But eh. Lots of characters get crazy power for seemingly strange reasons was my point. Or pull stuff from nowhete.

This.
Luffy specifically trained to imbue his attacks with Haki at the end of Act 2. Hes known how to do CoC since the time skip. Hes just combining the two together.

ngl I've always wondered if Ashura's extra heads and arms are an actual thing or some "rule of cool" projection

He has been called "the strongest creature", not the "strongest man". There is actually a difference with that wording.

(Meaning if a new big bad badass pops up in the future, and with this being shonen they most definitely will, dudes can't cry about it since oda has never implied kaido was supposed to be the strongest guy in the entire series).
