Maybe you should do the driver a favor and let him know he fucked up to save him time, which is money, and shame, in the long run? I mean the food in it's current state will likely be unacceptable and this means the driver will be out of some money due to failing on delivering a order.

something like this happened to my SIL 2 nights ago. she ordered from a place like maybe 10 minutes away. it was picked up by a dude on a bike. like a regular, pedal bike. then that guy went and picked up 3 other orders and delivered 3 other orders.

she got her cold ass burger 2 hours later.

Its not unusual for a Dasher to reach a restaurant, see there is an enormously long wait, and say f this and unassign themselves from the order at that point. That can only be done before the food is picked up though.

In this case, if the app really did say the food was picked up, that is weird. Either he did take the food and ate it himself, or he accidentally just hit the confirm pickup button but meant to cancel. Drove home, then contacted support to explain the error and have them help him cancel the order. Those are my guesses, anyway.

I'll never understand why people use these services. As a extremely lazy person myself, this sounds like a service Id never have use for. Id rather cook myself than be anxious that my food was gonna have something wrong with it the entire time I'm waiting. Plus the hunger making all my negative emotions 10x multiplied. It's just not worth it. Plus, more strangers handling my food than just the restaurant workers? Im good.

Never had any issues with my orders that weren't immediately solved by a refund through the app. It takes like 30 seconds to get reimbursed for things you don't receive.

Had that happen a couple of weeks ago. Said the driver was waiting around for my food for an hour. I texted him to see if there was an issue and then my order got immediately canceled. I called customer service and the driver claims another driver picked up my food. I honestly think he just ate it though.

You dont have to call, as you can just report incorrect/missing items in the app. You dont even really need to technically contact support at all since the in-app functionality allows you to report it, but you also have the option to text chat with support. You never have to talk live over the phone with anyone through DD.

Thanks for clearing that up. Still not gonna use it, as I stated, I'm not looking for a reason. But Im sure that information is useful for people like me who dowant to use it.

Door Dash is a garbage company. My account got hacked a few years back and not only would they not refund my money, they wouldn't give me back my account or even lock it. Had to get a refund through my bank and cancel that card and all that. Real pain. Terrible costumer service. I've had accounts hacked before at other companies(like Steam for example) and Door Dash was by far the least helpful company I've dealt with.

DoorDash and other apps like have always been more of a chad like app anyways. Like the trendy, social, younger people use it. Im not surprised a videogame board wouldnt use it.

that being said, I use it because I come home after being gone for 12-15 hours and Im not wasting time cooking. That hour making food could be spent at the gym
