Wild Having them exposed to air is probably safer in terms of infection. Underwear, if not changed regularly, can be a nidus for bacterial growth and infection. I agree that a enclosed, moist environment is breeding grounds for bacteria. It also depends on hygiene I guess. We learned that cleaning things is good to make things last longer. Just underwear alone could still be problematic but with hygiene, it's a good combo. It does keep you safe, like from random twigs/thorns/rocks, if you sit on a log and theres ecoli, the underwear is a layer of protection,poison ivy, etc --- itt my post is the best ...
