These types of scams really upset me. Some of these robocalling scams are terrible and seem relatively untraceable/uncatchable for the vast majority of times (a lot of them are based overseas). These usually seem to affect older individuals and more education is key. But some people have lost their life savings to these or a significant amount of money. It really gets me upset that our older/more vulnerable population is getting taken advantage of.

They call so many people. All it takes is one or two a day getting scammed out of thousands to make it worth it for them.

I get these fuckers at least 3-4 times a day. The other day it was 7. Recently the text messages have started also. I put my number on so many do not call lists and it seemingly does nothing. It's really irritating.

I really hate the 15 second long pause then the weird robotic beep that signals someone is finally going to talk. I really don't know what can be done about it.

I used to work for a call center. Do not call lists are bullshit unless you give them a shit ton of info and they process it. If you just say "put me on your do not call list" and hang up they'll just go on to the next call because they're not legally obligated to actually do anything.

Yeah. Apparently some states and cities get more than others. My cell phone provider has started to alert me if it's spam/scam, but they're only accurate about half the time. I get maybe 1 or 2 each day.

Here's how to fix scam callers.

1. Authenticate caller id phone number so you can't spoof numbers.
2. Allow customers to request providers block VoIP calls. Basically just an option that you can turn on or off like Mobile hotspot.
3. Fine VoIP providers who allow scam calls. If they refuse to pay then block them from calling the whole country.

Do not call lists only stop law-abiding non scam telemarketers. Those people trying to sell you car warranties aren't telemarketers. They are just scammers and fraud which is already illegal.

Does any one under 40 even answer a phone call if it's not from a recognized number, or they're expecting a phone call?
