Lol @ all the people who completely dismissed her grievances because she just happens to make a lot of money

the article was about her feeling like her employer was a family because she was so well compensated. idk about anyone else but I'm not dismissing her grievances. fuck corporate culture. however, her compensation/status was a central part of her story. it is far from irrelevant.

This is just capitalist work culture in a nutshell.

No, it's entirely fine that she quit and accepted the higher paying job offers. It's also natural that she would get said offers, since having Google on your resume brings clout.

The issue is whining about not getting promoted after taking 3 months off. The people who actually worked the whole year being ahead in line for a promotion just makes sense.

something was wrong. a coworker and potential manager was sexually harassing her. either she had a huge amount of PTO saved up and they approved it or they just decided to foot the bill for three months because they knew the optics were terrible

ITT you get promoted for doing your job. Be real, promotions only happen after you do more than what you should. If you nail it and are perfect at doing what you are supposed to, that's only a good review and perhaps a pay raise. Promotions come with more responsibilities. Like it or not that's how it works.

Did you read the article? It was leave offered because of the harassment complaint, not vacation

It sounds like the realest grievance with google is not moving the guy to a new desk afterwards. That should have been an easy one.

But they also offered her a very generous leave while they sorted things out

Idk if you can blame her manager wearing kid gloved with her afterwards on the entire company

And yeah lengthy leaves put your career on pause while youre out. Sounds like Google correctly didnt ding her performance, but promotions are going to be based on time actually spent working

Idk it sucks that she was harassed but overall she just kind of sounds entitled
