Carla wasn't my favorite character, but dang if this wasn't one of the best performances on the show. One of the best dramatic performances in all of sitcoms that I can think of, tbh.

Sometimes when I'm emotionally full and I need a good cathartic cry, I'll watch this scene and it gets me going. Great crying catalyst.

I contend MASH still has the best dramatic moments in sitcoms.

Hawkeye's speech at the nurse's funeral. Col. Potter's toast to his dead friends. Most of the episodes with Sidney Friedman. Winchester in the finale. BJ after Radar goes home and sees his family. And that's just a couple of them. The series is rife with fantastic moments.
