Weakest entry in the series though tbh

I loved the vertical-ness of some the city sections paired up with a jetpack.. some of the weapon customizing was pretty cool

Just didn't feel like any of the plot went anywhere

Very fun game. I love the settlement building...I just wish they added more interactivity within it. It feels dead tbh.

Eh, i think that 3 is worse but it gets looked back upon more fondly because of nostalgia.

but its meh. The story sucks, the companions suck, and the settlement loses its novelty quick. The combat is fun though and i do like parts of the world.

It just pisses me off because Beths still doesnt get what fallout is but they own the IP so whatever.

I loved it, I personally was shocked by a twist that really opened up the game, I really liked the dlc with the robot king and thought it was inventive. Other dlcs were REALLY weak though

I didn't like the building parts but it's pretty optional

Are there parts that are worse or offer less freedom than New Vegas? Yes. I don't care, it's still a great adventure worth multiple playthroughs

I actually just recently put a lot of time in playing it and I did find it very weak lore-wise. Needless to say I was very unimpressed with the Institute and its motivations. Felt very lazy at times tbqh ( I'm looking at you glowing sea).

I did enjoy settlement building, weapon and power armour crafting, and Vault 81.

i can still enjoy these games without a good story with the whole modding thing, so i like it.

Honestly if you treat it more like a typical open world shooter and not an RPG it's not that bad.

I'm a big Fallout fan, and I really liked 4 a lot, not as much as 3 but it was still damn good imo. The settlement building, and the scale of it and all the options is a lot of fun.

It doesn't suck but New Vegas is the best Bethesda Fallout game. I think most of us can agree on that.

It took me several tries to get into it, but it was pretty fun with a million mods added to it.

But unlike Skyrim, it's got "Also here's your entire backstory so have fun RPing why you don't gaf about saving your baby."

Settlement building is really fun once you focus lots of time on it.

It's good, but not a patch on FO3 or NV.

I actually feel like Fallout is worse for this than skyrim. Skyrim is a huge world that's open and flowing.

Fallout I feel like is bogged down by so many useless buildings.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I played 1 and 2, but skipped 3 and New Vegas, so 4 was my first foray into the 3D fallout games. The opening sequences of the game were amazingly well done in my opinion. I think part of why 4 got so much hate was because fans were coming from New Vegas and expecting it to top that.

Worth a play for the sarcastic dialogue options imo. The new dialogue system itself kinda sucks, but the sarcastic responses as well as (part of) the voice acting are on point

FO4's dialogue is really subpar for the most part, so it makes the main quest and some of the sidequests pathetically bland. You can still have fun with it in terms of just going around killing stuff, looting, etc. I got a lot more mileage out of the village-building stuff than I'd have thought, too, to the point it became one of my favorite reasons to replay. (Granted, you need to get a water farm going on to fund all the expensive upgrades, but oh well.)

I wouldn't say I love it but I have played multiple times and I do enjoy it.

As a playground "do what you want" it's still pretty good as Bethesda still do well at that.

Beyond that it's probably their weakest actual rpg, but as ever mods fix basically all the problems.
