Or is it basically equal? Or does anyone even know? I don't know if there are any specific numbers obviously since I have no idea how a study would be done, but I'm just curious.

I'm pretty sure it's very close to the same, but there's a lot less visibility out there for trans men, and also, it's just a lot more socially acceptable for girls to be "tomboys", so some transguys slide under the radar there too.

Of course this doesn't necesserially speak for the whole world, but personally, I've known a few MtF transgender people, but no FtM who remained identifying as male long term - the ones I knew who did at one point, later identified as non-binary instead.

I think mtf folks are more easily seen in society.

Anyhow, assuming you are correct, why do you think this is?

maybe, but like in thailand and cambodia, you still have like performance shows with them while there are none of the opposite. likewise with those general fringe festival things around the world, you'll get more "drag queen" type cabaret shows than the opposite.

theres probably some "real reason to it", but i reckon its just that we associate being feminine with "feeling pretty". and so you'd get more dudes (even just drag queen style stuff) who want to "feel pretty". While the opposite wouldnt be true as we don't associate growing facial hair and deepening voices as "pretty".

just my guess imo

MtF are definitely more visible/talked about in society.

Doesn't really mean are actually more common though and honestly no idea on the actual statistics given many trans people are likely not out.
