The battle system is great, knocking enemies down over and over again and then using an all-out attack is a fun way to resolve literally every random encounter. The differences between the elements are very meaningful. Kanji feels like a lightning guy, and Yukiko feels like a fire girl. Enemies' weaknesses and resistances make sense. The writing is good too, very natural. They sound like actual real high school students. Mitsuru, Akihiko, and Shinji are good characters in P3. Also so is Yusuke in P5. There is so much good voice acting. The massive high school section never feels padded. Despite being 40 hours long it's as efficient with your time as Undertale, LISA, Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass, and OMORI. Anyone who has a problem with Persona just doesn't like menu-based gameplay. Those long stretches of days where you barely see any new SLink conversations are fun. I love how the game uncritically rewards you for telling people exactly what they want to hear too, not a missed opportunity at all. 3's story is extremely memorable. I definitely remember even a single thing that happened in that whole-ass entire game except for Mitsuru healing the final boss. Don't just look at the pretty colors for 15 minutes and listen to the soundtrack. You should play it.
