Current Events > Scenario: A man tries to mug you, then gets attacked by dogs.

You're walking along one day when suddenly a man jumps out from behind a trashcan and points a Ruger GP100 at you.

He says "Give me all your money! Your phone! and your shoes! NOW!"

Then before you could spell your name a dog runs in out of no where and lunges at him. Sending the Ruger sailing out of his hand, across the ground and under a dumpster to be claimed only by the rats. The mugger falls awkwardly to the ground on his shoulder and breaks something, rendering his right arm as useless as a wet noodle.

The dog starts biting the shit out of the grounded mugger who is about to throw it off with his left hand when another dog runs in and bites his balls, making him scream, when he screams the first dog bites his face and causes him to bleed. The blood pours into his eyes and he can't see.

The would be mugger is writhing around on the ground, screaming in agony and ineffectually flailing at the dogs as they bite, rip and tear all over his body. There doesn't seem to be anything he can do to stop it. It's a mauling.

He pisses himself and starts squealing "Help!!! ARRRRRRGH! Help me! Please! Help! HEEEEEEEELLLLLLP! AhhhhhHHHHHHH!"

There's no one else around. It's just you.



How do you react?
What do you do?

Plot twist, I was working with the dogs the entire time.

Then I bite into the guy like some cannibal with my dog pals.

Does the dog have a collar and tags? If yes I'll choke it out (just to unconciousness) with the collar and get it out of there back to its owner before it gets put down.

If no, I assume its feral and leave.

Realistically no one can help him in time. The gun is out of reach says you. You're outnumbered by animals that have tasted blood now, the other guy is indisposed. If you call someone, they won't arrive in time. There's probably no one nearby because you're in an area where some random dude can walk up to you and try to mug you in broad daylight.

Speaking as a dog lover who has spent years and years with dogs and has to go out of my way not to harm them accidentally, you could easily beat the shit out of 2 of them if you wanted to. Let alone incapaicate them.

There's a reason wolves and dogs hunt in packs. They are no match for you.

If you're capable of killing dogs, you can just grab a dog's front legs and pull them apart there is literally nothing it can do as you crush it's ribcage.

Reminds me of Joe Rogan's stand up routine about how his wife and daughter shouldn't be a security guard.

I couldn't do it (morally) I love dogs and have been conditioned to treat them with reverance. I wouldn't have the heart. Even wild dogs, I would chicken out.

Hell no. I don't feel like being the dog's next victim and I also don't feel like helping the asshole who just mugged me. I know this because I've been mugged three times, but having a gun pointed at you is both terrifying and infuriating.

And where was his compassion / empathy for his victims? They are somebodies son / daughter, brother from another mother, they don't deserve to have their belongings stolen by the dregs of society, leave him to the dogs, he chose his own fate!

I'm somebody's son. I presumably have family. I may or may not have a daughter at home sitting at empty plates. Didn't stop him from pulling a gun on me or anyone else.

I didn't set the dogs on him, maybe they wouldn't have attacked him if they hadn't sensed he was bad!
It doesn't make me a bad person, I didn't put him in that situation, he would never have been there had he not chosen to mug me at that moment, maybe him waving a gun at me and threatening me could have startled me into a heart attack he doesn't know I have a heart condition, would he have got help for ME?! Maybe I'd have been the one attacked by the dogs as I lay there dying and he ran away :(

I get out of there before I'm dessert. Sucks for the mugger but he shouldn't have tried to rob me at gunpoint. I go home and philosophically wonder if the dogs saved me from the mugger or the mugger saved me from the dogs.
